Dave Grimshaw

Dave is a former journalist who joined MK in 2006.

He graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a degree in Journalism accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists and Broadcast Journalism Training Council.

After working in both BBC and ITV newsrooms, Dave jumped ship to MK, but not before he’d produced a documentary about women’s football called “The Beautiful Game”.

Dave says one of the “great things” about producing a documentary with a budget of zero and team of limited experience (one of them had seen Super Size Me) is that you have the “opportunity” to get involved in every stage of production.

Still, armed with just one broadcast quality camera and fluffy microphone, they successfully researched, pitched, planned, organised, story-boarded, filmed, interviewed, scripted, presented and edited a half-hour documentary.

While Dave waits for his second commission, he represents clients in education, B2B and the public sector. Luckily for us, he is a firm believer that being thrown in at the deep end is the only way to learn.
